Heat Trace Piping Systems
The heat trace piping systems we design and manufacture at Insul-Pipe Systems represent the industry standard for quality and efficiency. PVC, copper, steel, or stainless steel carrier pipes can be used for fluid transport, depending on the application. For the heat trace wire, a steel pipe is either welded or strapped to the carrier pipe, depending on the carrier pipe material. The carrier pipe is then insulated using closed cell polyurethane which offers the benefits of the lowest available thermal conductivity of any standard insulation as well as a natural resistance to water penetration. For outdoor, above-ground applications, a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) or fiberglass jacket is used to protect the insulation from the surrounding environment.
Selecting a pre-insulated piping system offers several advantages in both quality and lead time. Because the system is manufactured in our facility rather than in the field, all insulation is performed in a controlled environment and by skilled workers. The quality of the pipes, fittings, and couplings we produce are unrivaled in the industry and are far superior to piping components that must be insulated on-site. Additionally, since everything is delivered to the jobsite ready to install, the risk of weather delays is kept to a minimum.
These advantages have led to a robust and varied customer base that includes defense, municipal and industrial customers around the world. In addition to manufacturing, we can provide any needed technical support and engineering analysis to ensure that the optimal carrier pipe, insulation, and jacket system are chosen for a given application.
